The Board of Directors provide the oversight and institutional vision of the organization. Many of our Board Members are young professionals who have been involved with CYI in the past.
Current Board Members
Vincent Fang has been a member of the CYI family since 2007. Starting as a language partner for the Chinatown Literacy Project, Vincent held leadership roles with the Summer Leadership Institute and the CYI Working Group. He is currently Deputy Chief of Staff for NYC Council Member Margaret Chin by day and a religious Netflix viewer by night. Vincent holds a BA in Political Science and Policy Studies with a minor in Asian/Asian American Studies from Syracuse University.
Joseph F. Lin is a social justice organizer and community planner dedicated to advancing the growth and resilience of immigrants, people of color and LGBTQ communities. Joseph serves as Operations Manager at Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE). A New Yorker of Taiwanese Chinese heritage, Joseph works with Chinese American communities to build capacity for progressive social and economic change, rallying around issues such as gentrification, language access, and homophobia. Joseph holds a Master of Urban Planning from CUNY’s Hunter College and a B.A. in Social and Cultural Analysis from NYU, focusing on immigrant neighborhoods and Asian-Latino coalition building.
